F.D.'s reply

2001

Translated by Andrew Fentem

Evening had fallen but the tall guy was still pacing up and down the corridors at the ministry. He was larking about quietly, running down staircases with huge strides. He was surprised at how much power he had… His Bavarian boss, Tim Liedder even said to him: "That’s fine".

Soon he would be going for a lemonade with Daisy, the young trainee he had been able to impress thanks to the Derose file.

But meanwhile, on the sixth floor, he found a grey corridor where he noticed a door, which was normally closed, had been left ajar. It was the floor where the Civil Security Department was located. The man didn’t like the people there, he found them too harsh and unprincipled. There was none of that in the Information Section. Suddenly, he heard a poorly muffled cry that sent a shiver down his spine. As the shivering stopped, he was seized by horror and curiosity. He decided to take a closer look. Was that Derose he could see there? How could he know? He had already slipped away quietly... That guy annoyed him, he really did.

Nevertheless, he decided: in less than two years he’ll be voting for Josepoint’s “Espérance et Raison”. Jean-Marie Colombe said: The principle of premeditated violence is the door open to all abused. No thank you!
